The group seem to be a bit of that and a bit of this its not a group from the same era.
Still solid components imo and look to be in fair shape tho hard to tell from the pics really.
The wheels looks to be reynolds alta. An okay wheel set. Cheapish but good value and not crazy heavy either.I build up a corsa extra for my gf not that long ago with chorus 9 speed group (in worse shape visually then the pictured bike), nicer wheels but still standard (chorus hubs). I consider myself a pretty good shopper but it still cost around 6k gbp when all was said and done.

Woah 6k gbp that seems quite expensive. Purchased from new?

Oh i meant 600 gbp its a common mistake i do since a gbp is about 10 swedish kroner (actually its a lot more but i use 10 cause once upon a time that worked for conversion)
Frame fork bought on here for something like 280 gbp shipped or similar.
That left me 320 for group and wheels bars and stem.
Try finding a working condition chorus 9 speed group with chorus hubs wheels for 300. Its not that easy.. and then you still have bars stem tires n saddle left with 20 budget (luckily I'm a hoarder so i had some stuff around).
Regarding pricing in general: If you come across something its not that hard to find a deal if you are just looking for a nice bike. However if you are searching for something specific you will find its not so easy to find a deal on that item at the point in time when you want it. That kinda sux but its true :)

ah 600gbp that makes a little more sense. Thanks for the clarification and advice -- much appreciated.
Honestly I think the mish mash of parts is a bit of a turn off now that I've been thinking on it. And I get the feeling that the guy wants a premium for it because it says merckx and campagnolo. Perhaps I'll keep looking around. I also see a nice steel road frame with full Shimano 600 "tri-color" logo stuff. Could be a better bet....
Hi folks,
Looking to add a road bike to my stable and this one has popped up locally. Sadly I know next to nothing of road bikes and have no idea as to what is a good or bad deal for something like this:

Pictures are pretty shit, sorry. Looks to have Veloce brakes and ergo shifters, Veloce front mech, Centaur crankset, some kind of super-record-looking-ish seat post...
What do you guys think? How do this era/lineup of Campag components fare?
Thanks for the help!
