"Our sympathy with Oleg Tinkov" - Carlton Kirby.
He is just as bad as Leggitt.

Seeing Froome blow up like that - I'm feeling a bit gutted for Murdoch right now.

Flecha's got the same socks as me.#factoftheday

So Landa pulling a Froome?
-
• #106
In the end, not that exciting a stage - far too hard to allow lots of attacks and really exciting racing, was more a case of hanging on. Oh well.
-
• #107
I enjoyed it quite a lot, but it was more of a case of people dropping rather than attacking.
-
• #108
Oh, not saying I didn't enjoy it. Was fascinating to see the grinding down of the riders, if nothing else. Just not very exciting fireworks. Plenty still to come of course.

So Nieve Sky's GC hope now. Looking forward to that.
Also looking forward to hear if Landa had fucked off on Astana (he didn't have a radio in his ear at the end of the stage), or that was given the okay.

Christ, did anyone see those pictures of Froome at the end of the stage? He looked like death. Reckon the odds are pretty high he abandons tomorrow.
-
• #111
I really hope he doesn't. Nieve could use him.

• #112
What happened to Roche? And who got hit by a moto this time?
-
• #114
Someone needs to stick a muzzle on him.
Froome, Quintana and Valverde all losers today, and the three top finishers in the Tour. Given Contador's performance there, it looks best to either to race Giro and Vuelta or concentrate on the Tour #kneejerkreaction
Interesting stage, more last man standing than fireworks.

Just watched the highlinhts, that Katusha guy taking off his gillet while doing 60 kmh plus on the tight corner decent was incredible. Interesting to see that even in this age of techno fabrics the pros still stuff newspaper down the front of their jerseys.
In the words of the Mrs, that Froome bloke has a great build for a cyclist but he's a crap cyclist
-
• #116
That was quite dull I thought: solo or strung-out riders whinching away like on a welsh sportive. Not exaclty tactical.
-
• #117
a great build for a cyclist
Tom Dumoulin - you can't explain that.

Ha, yeah my gf's reaction when we saw that was "put your fucking hands on your bars, jesus!"

It's basically a free way to add a large number of ostensibly free and disposable windproof layers with the added bonus that it'll soak up sweat to eliminate moisture. Extra weight also aids in the descending.
It basically would be a waste of money to make any great effort in replicating that.

Tinkov really is a nasty piece of work eh.

Rapha descent padding, a high wicking product guaranteed to keep you warm and make you go faster made from the finest Italian newspaper lovingly curated and recycled by artisan baristas.

So he crashed yes, but there was also a shot of him cresting a climb no-handed putting on a gilet. He's a much better bike-handler than you or I.
-
• #123
Yes I saw that too, it was impressive. Maybe he just needs to look where he's going a bit
-
• #124
To be fair that was also my recation

Yesterdays stage was designed by Rodriquez, what was the reason a rider was allowed to choose the route, this is something that happens often or just a one off?
And misogynistic, and probably any number of other sins. Dying his hair pink was pretty terrible too.
