So are you going tell us what mileage / usage you get out of your cog and chains or have we settled that you're full of shit?
-
• #778
My chain is my brake so I'm gonna buy the best I can, for mental reassurance if nothing else (and I'm Loctiting the fuck out of the threads on the little joining screw, although I fail to see how it could back out easily).
Super Toughness is also pimp as fuck, so you know...

have we discussed belt drive yet?
-

I don't have to tell you shit if you're going to carry on acting like a dick after I said thanks for calming down a slagging match over chains only for you to carry it on.
It doesn't matter how many miles I do as I do it over 6 bikes so it wouldn't make sense to your tiny brain.
I have various chains on the different bikes and they have all been replaced except the Izumi Toughness.
What would I be full of shit about anyway? Not having to replace a chain? -
• #782
That's the chains I have on all my bikes at the minute. (The spare links at least) they are all decent chains but the Super Toughness has no wear to the rollers after a year and that is on the bike I ride almost everyday.

none of those are a kmc 510hx though.
also to add fuel to your shitty wrong fire. An odyssey bluebird chain is exactly the same as a KMC 510hx but with a much more fashionable brand on the box and it retails at twice the price. so more money = better is just wrong

put your Izumi V chain in a proper parts cleaner fluid and watch that gold just rub off then try and come back with how good you think it is
-
• #787
Yours?

• #788
4th one down le dickhead.
Is your proper parts cleaner an electrolysis bath???
I would like to see a video of your supposed degradation of Izumis top end bike chain with simple cleaning products.
After please show me some videos of chimps throwing shit at each other because that is more interesting than this utter cuntage bile.
I don't understand people who say cheap bike chains are just as good as expensive ones.
What do Olympic winners have on their bikes? String? Tied to their hopes of gold, washed off by proper parts cleaning fluid?
What is the point in spending so much money on everything else but scrimping on a chain. -

It sounds like you've owned six chains in your life fella. Which answers this...
What would I be full of shit about anyway? Not having to replace a chain?

Oh fuck yes.

4th one down le dickhead.
that's a KMC 510 not a 510HX so nah mate. try to actually know wtf you own before getting behind it jheeeze

I think it was me asking about aerospokes. Sorry. I didnt know anything about them and I figured that Lfgss would be a good place to ask for advice.
Sorry. -

also on your point of more expensive cogs being better, it's pretty common practice with big road teams to use lower spec cassettes and chains to bring the bikes up to UCI weight limit. Which they obviously wouldn't do if it had any effect of the actual workings of the drivechain

I have 'broken' a chain. Once. It came off the cog at 60kpm on 70", jammed between the cog and spokes and popped.
Sounds like you've had two chains and one broke from a bullshit story.
Were you carrying a spare pin? Did you have the longest track ends to allow your rear wheel to slide in further?
Maybe your mum picked you up because it was late?
Probably woke up from your fantasy and she had left a cup of tea on your bedside table -

Maybe your mum picked you up because it was late?I shortened the chain, flipped the wheel to run the smaller cog. You don't need a new pin if you don't push it all the way out.
Actually it was your mum I met in the pub.

You are not my mate but you are wrong. Very much a HX. Best to know WTF you are talking about before you get behind it jheeeezzee.
-
• #798
Road teams and cassettes???
We are talking 1/8 chains and fixed cogs. The cogs are constantly with the chain. A cassette has different cogs that get different amounts of action on the chain. Different altogether.

Burned!!!
Fuck you are awesome. Surprised you didn't just ride home on your friends cock.
When are you allowed out?? -

I'm bored of this. Was interesting before I realised how drunk I was. I'm going to get more beer. You guys settle down
Good. Well done for calming this shit down. its just chains at the end of the day.
