Cheap chains don't wear out any quicker though.

If only pricing strategies were so simple

@SeƱor_Bear did @hoops paint the Nag?
-
• #755
Yep. It took him less than a week.
-
• #756
I asked him to paint something ages ago and he declined. I wanted him to paint a frame so that it looked like a watermelon. I have another I want in Porsche's Gulf racing colours.

Cheaper chains will wear quicker and then damage the cog.
lol wut?
-
• #758
your cheap chain it is wearing itself down at a faster rate.
It doesn't.
-
• #759
The point is they are quality parts vs cheap parts.
You can have both.

shark tooth.
Much NJS.
-
• #761
it's pretty ridiculous to argue that price is directly connected to quality in a thread about njs, though
-
• #762
You should replace your cog with your chain as they age together.
You do this? Your chains must be fuuuuuucked (or you buy shit / alu cogs or throw good ones away early).
I go through several chains per cromo cog.
I go through rear wheel bearings almost as often as chains now because turbo trainer /csb

Expensive parts are expensive because they last.
They're are expensive because they have a high value to someone (regardless of durability).
When do the schools go back?

No I use Izumi Super toughness and Phil Wood. They are high quality and last for a long time.
Maybe you should have stayed in school and got some qualifications so you could get a job that pays enough for you to afford the better things in life.
I'm sorry your cheap chains break so often but save up and buy yourself something nice once in a while. -

This guy again!!!
Yawn

You utter fucknugget.
I checked your posting history to get an idea of the high quality components that meet your exacting tastes, but I'm seeing a thread asking if you should buy an aerospoke. So forgive me if I ignore you.
-
• #769
Ah, thanks for the lolz
a long time
Do they last the same time though? I'm genuinely interested and would be surprised. Then we can get back to the insults.
-
• #770
Why would you not want an aerospoke????!!!
-
• #771
Yes they do. Within minutes.
You go first. -
• #772
I'm sorry your cheap chains break
I have 'broken' a chain. Once. It came off the cog at 60kpm on 70", jammed between the cog and spokes and popped.
Would some Super-Toughness have helped?

• #773
minutes.
Mileages? Track hours? Etc.
-
• #774
If you toughened up and stopped being such a whiney bitch then sure ;)
-
• #775
I didn't whine. I fixed it at the roadside (a mate had a chain tool) and rode to the nearest pub, drank some beer, and rode home with this bitching story!
The point is they are quality parts vs cheap parts. From the first day you ride your cheap chain it is wearing itself down at a faster rate and from your argument it will then be damaging the cog because it is worn down.
A valid comparison because these two parts work together and affect each other.
Expensive parts are expensive because they last. Cheap parts are cheap because they are cheap.
Anyways. This is meant to be about NJS bikes and not chain purchase opinions.
Realistically - buy what you can afford and are happy with.
