  • Completely invalid comparison. Run a cheap chain on the Phil and you'd see no more wear than with an expensive chain. But that's not the point, sprockets wear out when you run worn chains on them. Cheap chains means you can replace them several times for the same expense as one expensive chain.

  • The point is they are quality parts vs cheap parts. From the first day you ride your cheap chain it is wearing itself down at a faster rate and from your argument it will then be damaging the cog because it is worn down.
    A valid comparison because these two parts work together and affect each other.
    Expensive parts are expensive because they last. Cheap parts are cheap because they are cheap.

    Anyways. This is meant to be about NJS bikes and not chain purchase opinions.
    Realistically - buy what you can afford and are happy with.
