You do realise you're in the audax thread, yeah?
-
• #4103
I've got a bike with mudguards now, need to embrace the lifestyle! Need to get miles in, more likely to do so on an actual event.
-
• #4104
I use that logic. I don't have mudguards though.

• #4105
Bit far off, but does anyone fancy the South of Bucks Winter Warmer?
Entered twice. DNF at Godalming one year (weak, was only my 3rd 200), DNS next time due to horrific storms. One year I'll break the jinx.
-
• #4106
It'll be my first 200, but I know the roads well.
-
• #4107
Oh, my answer is yes, btw. I'm still trying to do RRtY which requires a 200k each month for 12 months.
Does PBP count towards RRtY?

Does PBP count towards RRtY?
Yes.
-
• #4109
Can I draft you round?
-
• #4110
Actually the 24hr TT gets audax points - does that count towards the RRtY?
-
• #4111
If you want to get lost and turn it into a 300k, sure.
-
• #4112
What are you trying to work out young man?
Looks like you have two simultaneous RRtY going now.

I thought I'd missed a month, but I'd just not written down my second Boat Trip perm.
This lot means I'm still on track, right?

Yes two on the go there. You should possibly make time for a nice 200 in SF after the worlds?
-
• #4115
How can I have two on the go? Some months, I've only done one ride.
-
• #4116
You started no.2 in July ;-)

I'll see what I can do about childcare then and book it.
Had a look at my GPS track log from last Friday. It's interesting to be able to see exactly where I stopped and where I missed turns.
Did a quick mental audit of my food intake and it really wasn't much more than I would eat on a non-cycling day. Must be getting energy efficient or my body has become better at metabolising body fat due to my 5:2 fasting.

Yes, 24h TT counts towards RRTY, as long as you did >360km (24 hours at the nominal minimum speed of 15kph). Even rides over the usual 30kph average limit count.
You've already been credited with a 700km ride:-

Gotcha. Maybe I should do 2 audaxes this month then?

Anyone know if there's an audax site for Spain or Poland?

I reckon I could fit in a Boat Trip perm this Sat. That could be my backup, in case the 300k goes awry.
-
• #4123
Well done for going out there. I hate it when you get the "why the fuck am I doing this?" feeling.
I've done a bunch of audax rides very slowly with a partner and it gets to the point where you endup thinking "well I know I /can/ turn the pedals all day, but /why/?". I think that I need to ride them quicker.
I'm wondering what to do next. I did PBP very slowly (but to my timetable, so all good). LEL doesn't massively appeal, I can't get the idea that it is 4 days in the rain on rough roads out of my head.
-
• #4124
If Oranj can do LEL in 60-odd hours then so can you (or I). :)
Yeah, British roads though >>>
-
• #4125
Many of the LEL roads are quite nice, there were/are some horrible bits though.
The views of roads like the B709 more than make up for the rough road surface though.
