  • Don't worry. There'll be a phasing in period for this. First, there will be a review period, as we can't expect these haulage/transport businesses to have thought about safety seriously before. Then they will have to allow for retrofit of existing vehicles, which will also take a large amount of time. Then, just as the deadline approaches, there will be a legal challenge that will go through all levels of courts and then be upheld, leaving us back a square one.

    Seems a bit pointless if you're driving a 20 meter, 20 tonne vehicle but are unable to see what is directly in front or to the side of your vehicle.
