Googled and found an extra 5% discount code for shedstore that worked

I got mine from somewhere else in the end, simplygardenbuildings/A1 sheds which was already a lot more than 5% cheaper than Shed Store for the one I wanted.
Any recommendation for where to buy pressure treated 4 x 4s?

I know my limits, I will put together the large panels that somebody infinitely better than me at woodwork will have prefabricated.

• #4656
Did you make that?

More like an Amish barn raising, but yeah I did the bulk of the labour.

Wickes normally have very competitive prices for wood, if you can be bothered. I think Barking would be your nearest.
Otherwise, your local builder's merchant. I have bought many 4 x 4s, 2 x 2s and many many other things from C&S in Leyton which must be near you. Maybe very slightly more than Wickes but the quality of their stuff tends to be better too. If you do go there and get served by Jit tell him I sent you.

I've been looking at sheds too and the advice my father gave was to sit the floor runners on pressure treated bearers (don't have to be massive) with strips of damp proof membrane between them. Brick/flags also work. Get some shimming material too that you can put above the membrane.

Good idea on the damp proof membrane, one of the only useful things the builders left in the shed was some heavy duty floor covering which would be perfect for damp proofing between bearers and the base.

Function over beauty.
Or are you referring to the roofing material that curves over the peak?
Those are galvanized steel sheets that in a previous life were advertising panels for buses. (I know!) Making that one bend took me over an hour, jumping up and down on it; I've a feeling I won't need to replace them anytime soon. -

I have a very similar query, There is a 6' by 4' concrete base for a former shed that I want incorporate into a base for a 8' by 6' shed. My plan was to place some concrete slabs alongside the existing base to take the overshoot of the shed-base, ie the wooden joists. Would it benefit to having the wood only in point contact with the ground, or does running a long length of wood in contact with the concrete make sense?

Fitting a shower drain - would you use some silicone/sealant of some type around the rubber grommet that goes through the shower tray and to which the drain clamps on either side?

Day one of stripping wallpaper.
I now have a number of burns on my neck and arms from using a steamer on the ceiling to remove woodchip wallpaper. Oh, did I mention there's two layers?
Fml.

Sorry but surely steam = scolds not burns.

best assembled clean and dry, and not overtightened

The current unit (Hansgrohe Raindrain) has just sprung a leak - the gasket deformed, pulling away from the unit below and the sealing ring above, allowing water through.
Happened at the lower corner, as it were, where the unit underneath is at a slight angle downward.
Annoyingly when putting it back together I overtightened one corner and stipped the threaded insert out of the plastic, so have had to order another complete unit.

looks pretty crap, because:
1 - three screws holding will create pressure pinch points
2 - unless supported underneath, the unit will cantilever from the waste pipe load and pinch harder on one side and lesser on the other
3 - the screws and tappings are 'single use' as dammit has found out
4 - the gasketting looks thin and very surface distortion / contamination intolerant
access from underneath to ensure clean undersurface, alignment and support for the waste pipe end is necessary if a trouble free installation desired

I thought Hansgrohe were supposed to be pretty decent?

Some of their stuff is.
I've just ordered this one
