  • The current unit (Hansgrohe Raindrain) has just sprung a leak - the gasket deformed, pulling away from the unit below and the sealing ring above, allowing water through.

    Happened at the lower corner, as it were, where the unit underneath is at a slight angle downward.

    Annoyingly when putting it back together I overtightened one corner and stipped the threaded insert out of the plastic, so have had to order another complete unit.

    looks pretty crap, because:

    1 - three screws holding will create pressure pinch points

    2 - unless supported underneath, the unit will cantilever from the waste pipe load and pinch harder on one side and lesser on the other

    3 - the screws and tappings are 'single use' as dammit has found out

    4 - the gasketting looks thin and very surface distortion / contamination intolerant

    access from underneath to ensure clean undersurface, alignment and support for the waste pipe end is necessary if a trouble free installation desired
