I really would appreciate any additional information concerning a Merckx I bought a few weeks ago. Former owner thought this frame was re-painted. It looks like a professional road model with portacatena dropouts, an early model seat cluster, 'Eddy Merckx' stamped on the BB shell and on the flat fork crowns, cable guides on top of BB, a very early serial number ...
... but it is the only 'old' Columbus Merckx I've ever seen without markings on the seat stays.
Would like to hear your thoughts.
