We should do a green Dolan ride... Or even a rainbow Dolan ride with some red, blue, etc!

Has anyone ever broke an alpina fork?
-
• #2731
Nope

It makes me feel safer, maybe.
Yesterday I found a deep scratch on mine. Used sandpaper to ensure and found that is placed in the union between crown and legs. Hope I don't become the first one to break one. -

Not personally but I work at a velodrome where there are 79 bikes with Alpina forks.
I've seen a few.
Also know someone that snapped one riding it on the street.

Built up an FXE for commuting duties. Really enjoying it so far.

has anyone drilled holes in the current Pre-Cursa for bottle cage M5 rivnuts? The diagonal tube seems like too sharp on the upper side, where the bottle cage holes have to be drilled, so it is like very very round edge for a rivnut, maybe. Although, the FXE seems to be just as sharp in the photoso and have threads for the cages. Can someone post a close up photo of a pre-cursa with installed rivnuts, or the rivnuts of the FXE? Thanks a lot!!

Not a permanent or slick solution, but alternatively, you could mount a cage on the seat tube using two 31.8mm DMR Hinged clamps.

Might be useful not to have drilled holes in it if you ever sell it on to a trackie. -

I did, but in the seat tube.

Thanks for the tip, but i hate those clamps. And a trackie would not complain if the drill are on a 180€ frame.

I think i will do that too; drill the seat tube, not te other one... BW, why did you sanded the paint for the holes, if it is not necessary at all??
-
• #2743
Not sanded. After drilling the holes I used the file for a smooth finish.
Then placed the rivnuts and painted black over it again. Looks fine. -

Just putting feelers out before I go full post.
My old 54cm Dolan Pre-cursa is up for grabs. All it's missing is a set of forks and a brake calliper. Could do with a jolly good clean, too. £150. -

Thanks so much for the fast help, I will definitely drill mine too.

Sorry for spam - also selling my precursa complete for £250.

I received the last parts finally and here it's mine. So far so good, although I will change the seatpost for one with setback, and will also change front brake and crankset for a Sram 2300 courier. Couple other changes and it will be 7Kg soon enough :)
