Hi all,
Dawes racing bike, 59cm seat-tube (centre to top) and 57cm top-tube (centre to top)
lovely 531 frame + forks, no cracks, dents or bends anywhere on the frame. Quite a bit of surface rust which the original owner has made look 100% worse by painting some sort of rust protector on it.
Equipped with Shimano 400EX groupset which is actually really very nice. Although the paint-work isn't great on this bike it hasn't done a huge amount of miles. It's on the original chain, tyre (rear), brake pads.
This bike does need a little work (being super critical so it runs absolutely perfectly)
. stem needs freeing, head-set needs tightening
. front wheel is not original, it got stolen a while ago so I've replaced it with a similar one, runs great.
. seat-post needs freeing
. front brake needs a new inner cable
Other than these problems it's a really nice bike that runs extremely well. Suitable for winter with its mudguard eyelets and would be fantastic for commuting on. High quality steel and components for not a great deal of money.
Stem is stuck in the steerer, not 100% sure if the seat-post is stuck but I'll have the answer later tonight.
Asking £140 posted please!
