  • ^^I read that as 'Jew Transport', should've gone to SpecRipoff...

  • So contrary!!!

No. it's inadvisable to cross the road with moving traffic, doesn't mean you can't do it, the Highway Code are guideline, rather than law.

Just like its inadvisable to undertake in a car and again doesn't mean you can't do it. Cause an accident and the blame will be on you.

As for this not being America, couldn't be more wrong. USA is a litigious country. That's the place where he would get money.
Over here for any claim he launched to be successful he would have to show the drivers were negligent, which from the video would be very difficult for him to prove.

I'm done. Can't be arsed arguing with a troll

  • Dress it up whatever way you like, Pedestrians still have priority.

I'm done. Can't be arsed arguing with a troll.

That not a nice thing to call yourself.

  • No one is defending the nutter.

That is awful. Everyone is entitled to a defence.

In this instance, I think we can agree that the pedestrian is a man brought up and living in a deprived part of one of Britain's most deprived boroughs. His educational attainment was probably limited and he can feel some frustration as a consequence. He is possibly not able, and the video bears this out, of reasoned argument.

He lives in an area where his employment prospects are limited. His chances of owning a home are negligible. He may still be living with his parents in a small flat. His love life is likely to be restricted by his economic circumstances and his accommodation.

Life is frustrating. He has no or little ambition. His is, like so many others in our modern society, a hopeless case.

The area in which he lives may be poor but it is surrounded by wealth. Gentrification is creeping through the area and has been all his life. Every day he sees this wealth flaunted in his face and yet he is powerless.

His one channel of power is on the road. Even if he can't afford a car, he can make traffic stop. Stepping into the road, Bentleys and Porches grind to a halt. This is his moment of authority. A moment when social workers, the dole office, the probation service and police officers and everyone else is no longer telling him what to do but when he is in control.

Bentleys and Porches, Audis and BMWs and, of course, bicycles. Bicycles are ridden by the middle classes from their new homes in his area, noses stuck in the air, smugger than smug can be about their environmentally positive way of life. He had a bike. Once. A long time ago. It was nicked.

And so he is crossing the road, asserting himself against the trafffic and a middle class cyclist pedals along slowly. He carries on walking. She is intimidated. He gets a rush of power but restrains himself. She shouts out. To maintain control; he responds. She makes a gesture.

At that moment his control slips. His power is threatened by a middle aged middle class woman on a bicycle making a gesture towards him.

Can he really be blamed for asserting himself?

The cyclist, in her bubble, was oblivious to his circumstances. Should we be?

  • This bike of his - can't he just nick another one ?

  • Has he engaged your services @cliveo?
