The PTjacket has some give to it, so it will stretch to fit your body.
The Race cape will not be as forgiving, and unless you are sizing UP the race cape, it will not fit over your PTjacket.
I own both, PTjacket in Small and was able to fit a Race cape in Medium over it. Now I have a Small race cape, and it no longer fits over the PTjacket.

Any tall slim people (6ft3) own the classic wind jacket? not sue what size to order.

I just took delivery on one. I think this piece is a winner, will allow you to ride further into the season with your summer jerseys.
The fit you will need to get used too. I have a short torso, and with a size Medium, the bottom of the softshell base layer is maybe 1.5 inches below my belly button. My thermal bib shorts JUST covers the base layer by about 1-1.5 inches.
If you have a belly, or a super long torso, may be a wierd fit...

Cheers! How tall are you and chest size? Thinking medium also.
How long are the arms, they look like they'd protrude from my race jerseys! But I guess I'd have arm warmers on anyway. -

I am 5 foot 7, 150lbs, 38inch chest, and I wear a Medium in Pro Team tops, and chose a Medium in the softshell baselayer. Yes, the sleeves of it are long. Underneath my Pro Team Jersey it sticks out maybe .5-1 inches. It goes on super tight like a wet suit without zippers, so you can imagine the struggle. But once it's on, feels great.

sounds like your race cape is too small and you should sell it to me ;)

lol... If you want a waterproof layer on top of your PTjacket, you should get the rapha rain jacket instead (as per rapha's own recommendation in the PTjackets description). The rain jacket is more relaxed fit.
Or, screw the jacket and just buy the softshell baselayer... you will get wet no matter what (either from inside or outside the jacket), at least you'll stay comfortably warm :)

Shit. I buckled and got a jersey, two pairs of socks and some arm warmers for £69.
Not so pricey. -

How does Gabba sizing/fit compare to a Rapha Softshell? I put on my Large softshell last night for the first time this year and it's super baggy around the chest. I have lost a bit of weight since I last wore it, but possibly more than I thought, because I don't remember it being annoyingly baggy last autumn/winter. With only a jersey or base layer underneath I think it'll look a bit of a bin bag this winter.
Question is this: if a large softshell is pretty baggy around my chest, what size Gabba should I go for? Is the shape of the jackets totally different? Wiggle suggests a Medium, but I'm a bit scared of Italian sizing making me look like a badly stuffed Italian sausage.

Can't help you with the comparison with a Rapha softshell, but I'd recommend buying two Gabba's and sending one back, the grading between sizing is minimal. I've had a couple, they're excellent but as usual with Castelli they come up a bit small. I ended up with XL's where I would normally wear L.

Thanks, I was thinking that might be the solution. I've just measured myself and Wiggle firmly recommends a Medium based on their fancy new 'recommend me a size' thing.
Obvious question remains - is a Gabba more useful than a Softshell (i.e. is it worth having both)? I find the latter a bit hot for tempo rides, even with just a base layer. From what I hear, the Gabba is versatile enough that it can be used as a general LS jersey in autumn-spring.

Hmm I buckled, and got a couple guilts for high VIZ commuter duties. This season I'll be looking a bit freddy krueger

Discussed a few pages back. View seemed to be that Softshell ok for a steady commuter but Gabba much better for tempo riding .

Yellow trade team jersey is growing on me. Am I alone or is the sale price blinding me?

Thanks. I thought I'd seen it discussed recently but Google took me to 2 year old comments.

Ha.
It's been in my cart a few times. But I race in a club jersey now, and have a couple inappropriate tri onsies already. No idea what I use it for.
Pro-mutting on the fixed perhaps.

I thought about it but I don't think anyone needs to see me in a speedsuit.
Do I really need a softshell base layer?!
