Missus tried the levers; too big for her hands ..

Ah fair enough. So using her preferred levers with the spyres. Probably easier maintenance I reckon anyway. And stopping power on a 1x8 commuter is probably more than enough.

Ah great, is there a not so budget option or is all the stuff the same?
Gonna borrow a dremel to cut the outer to length rather than use my bike cable cutters.
