Agree with all of that. I totally understand the reasons for her behaviour, I've done very similar/worse things myself and have felt like a dick afterwards.
There's obviously a huge difference in the levels of dickishness on display, and I'm not comparing the two. I don't think that recognising her level in any way defends the behaviour of the bloke.
But there's confusion because some people (I haven't read the comments on the usual places tbh but I imagine) are highlighting her behaviour in order to defend the bloke.
