Swrve Deck Jacket

  • Hi All,

Anyone got any experience with one of these? Thoughts?

Toying with biting the bullet for a snazzie (probably overpriced) Rapha Soft Shell, but also perusing the competition. I'm after something that i can wear off the bike as well as on.

    Any help appreciated. Tah

  • Love the soft shell so much I saved up and bought a second just in case they stopped making them. Funny thing is the one I bought used from here is still going strong. 10/10, would buy again without hesitation.

  • Rapha Soft Shell ya?

  • I have one.

Don't have experience of the Rapha Soft Shell.

It's a decent jacket. Pretty damn warm, which wasn't quite what I was after at the time as I was more inclined towards an autumn rather than winter jacket, isn't the most breathable thing ever but better than many similarly priced jackets, and looks fairly presentable off the bike although is still quite sporty looking.

Buttons are not particularly well attached however. I have lost two in the year or so I've owned it.

  • I think Paul's Custom's Cycles on Bellenden Road in Peckham has these 50% off. It may be only the black and I'm not sure what sizes he has but it might be worth an email.
I got the Swrve wax jacket (which they now have back in stock). I refuse to stop banging on about how cool it is.

  • Can't believe that there is a road called 'Bellenden'. Does Ed Miliband live on it?

  • Just went down and bought myself one from Paul's on Bellenden. Gotta say, at £57, it's a steal. Feels great. Nice fit. Glad i made that snap decision and didn't fork out the extra £190 for a Rapha Softshell.

  • I've just bought one after mulling it over for like, 6 months. Hope its not too short at the front as at 6'3 I'm more body then legs. Also reduced. I'm really quite excited.

  • No he does not.
I once got a lift home form a very cheerful/coked up minicab driver who couldn't get over the fact I lived somewhere called Herne Hill. As for as he was concerned it was a clear homonym for Horny Hill.
Now I live just off Bellenden I think of him often and how he'd plough his car into a wall in fits of apoplectic laughter.
