We conceded 10 from the corresponding fixtures of Ars and Stoke last season. There is no way Mike Marsh and Colin Pascoe would have left with a point from the emirates.
It's nice to fly under the radar this year. -

Liverpool got lucky with an awful decision again, to add to the two against Bournemouth
We got lucky with some awful defending

Saw the second half with jonny in a Brixton boozer and enjoyed it. Frantic pace, plenty of good football. Liverpool need to know when to slow the game down though and go for possession over counter attack. Looked a bit Naive in that respect. Sadly arsenal just looked like arsenal. Exciting, technically excellent, useless at scoring when it really matters. If Liverpool had retained the ball properly in the second half arsenal would have been floundering.

should have never brought him, quintessential panic buy.
Pity Rodgers never really gave Borini a go.. -
• #118737
Why should he have given Borini a go? Clearly the guy isn't good enough to play in a mid table premier league team. A goal every 260 minutes at Sunderland sums up his abilities rather well.
-
• #118738
Borini scored more goals for Sunderland than Balotelli did for Liverpool, so why not give him a go, would have saved them the transfer fee and the wages.

From the Guardian on Simone Zaza to West Ham:
The Zaza to Juventus deal was a weird one, tied up in Italy's co-ownership stuff. As I remember, Juventus got him from Sampdoria in 2013, possibly for around £3 million, but then immediately sold off 25% of him to Sassuolo for £2.5 million. A year later, Sassuolo paid a further £7.5 million to own him outright, but Juve could buy him back for £15 million if they acted before the end of June 2015. They did that, but then also transferred Domenico Beradi back to Sassuolo as part of the deal. It's a weird one.
Anyway, no Juve seem to have decided he's surplus to requirements (only two months after buying him) and West Ham have bid £3 million for a loan with a £15 million agreed fee at the end of the year.
And people still claim Italian football is rife with corruption.

Very sorry to see Balotelli go. He was the only Liverpool player that I can recall liking. AS great athlete. A talent wasted on Liverpool. Hope he does well in Italy.

Juve's co-ownership of players is nuts but just in general it's an odd practice in Italy.

Joe Gomez looks like a solid player - he didn't have a winger to go up against but was strong in the air. When Oxlaide-Chamberlain came on he struggled with the directness and pace but looks like a good bit of business and one for the future

Cuadrado out the door...
Have we signed Pogba yet?
-
• #118744
I think he scored more goals than all their strikers combined but that's not really the benchmark to go by.

cuadrado has looked shit. de bruyne possibly going to citeh looks like the best bit of business at the moment. what the fuck happened to him at chelski?
-
• #118746
de bruyne from reports needs a cuddle and some ego massage, rather than Mourinho's tough love...

NEYMAR'S GONE!
to buy a new wheelbarrow to carry all his cash in
-
• #118748
Chelsea got paid a decent amount of money for de Bruyne regardless whether they're due a sell on clause or not.
-
• #118749
De Bruyne was a decent player but unwilling to be a team player. He wanted to be guaranteed a starting place in a team where he was competing for a place agfainst the likes of Oscar and Hzard. He was unhappy and Woolfburg were happy to pa a lot for him. Made a decent profit. Good luck to him. Rumour is that Bayern is also interested.

He is also called Kevin which is wrong.
rodgers new tactical flexibility saw us parking the bus for 20 odd minutes there
bit upsetting but hey ho
our new right and left backs look class, clyne and gomez are good defensively, less attacking than last seasons wing backs though
three clean sheets and 7 points not to shabby
