Question for the forum:
I'm currently running 11 speed campag and I'm thinking of trying out SRAM red 22. Do I need to change my free hub and cassette or will I be able to use the campag 12-27 cassette I already have with SRAM shifters and rear mech?
I've read online that this works pretty well but I'm wondering if anyone has had any real world experience of this.

Go for it, only problem is that you won't be able to get the wider range of gear from SRAM/Shimano, nor get them cheaply (Campagnolo max out at 29t).

So they can make money.

To avoid infringing all the patents which Shimano and Campagnolo (and to a lesser extent SRAM) have on both electronic and mechanical cable shifting mechanisms.

This^
Better than cables maybe. But it can't touch electronic.

Acros produced and sold for a short while, as it was eye watering expensive, a MTB hydraulic circuit in 2011 .. wonders if Rotor have bought the IP and are adapting it ..

The Acros one was £2000 or something ridiculous. And that wasn't including drop levers etc. Be interesting to see how this compares.

I've ridden the Rotor group,
Its pretty good to be fair

why

I liked the feel, You get a nice response through the lever when it goes into gear and it was pretty quick and quiet,
Obviously on par with Electric and a well set up cable, but the feel of the shift coming back from the lever was nice, not entirely sure on usefulness though

Just googled that group. Pretty hideous.

Yep, the lever hood profiles look like something from a 60's GB catalogue, and not in a good way.

Where can one buy this? https://www.sram.com/sram/road/products/s350-1-crankset
-

You can't, it clearly states it's an OEM option only.

Can you buy any old SRAM 165 and then stick a 38 or 40 on?
Thanks, will look at it tomorrow.
