  • Both bike will fit you fine, Spanish road are awesome that even on 23mm it's pretty smooth.

If you're worried about back, Avant.

  • oh - report back! I'm going there in a couple of months and was also looking at hiring from them. You doing one of the guided rides or just heading out on your own?

  • Head out on my own, not certain I'll do it but am going there for four days of fine dining so feel a 70mile ride may offset some of this.

  • exactly what I was thinking...

  • Garmin 1000 should do its usual job of failing to sort out a sensible route.
The shop have said they can supply speed play pedals so I'd just need to take garmin, mount hrm and cadence sensor, rapha clobber, shoes and helmet.

  • They set up the bike for me, including lending me speedplay pedals. I took my own garmin and helmet though they can loan them too.

Bike was in good condition. I went for the orca, which was good but felt like hard work. It may have just been the winds coming in from the sea, but it felt like it required some effort to get it moving - a more likely explanation is that I am fat and slow.

Would use again, and they also have the top floor of the shop devoted to POC clothing, which triggered a bout of clothing lust.

  • Awesome, sounds like it's worth doing then. Did you go on one of their recommended routes or make up your own? Thanks for the report!

  • I followed one of their routes. Actually the garmin was fucking useless and as usual completely fucked up where the route crossed over itself. My first attempt I ended up riding 1.5 miles and circling back to the shop. 2nd time it told me after 1/2 a mile on a road I was off course, then that I was on course and then that I was off course. So I ended up doing most of the route in reverse and missing one loop entirely.

  • PS I forgot about the point where my garmin showed me as being 1 mile out into the sea. I had to reboot it twice to get it to show me as actually being half a mile inland.

  • When you're in a new country, it take some time for the Garmin to find the signal, I have to wait 15 minutes for it to finally hook it on after turning it on for the first time since leaving England.

  • I had been riding for 3 hours before it suddenly decided I was a few miles out to sea.

  • Guys I need help- My current bike is killing me. The geo is just too aggressive for my aging back. So I've been looking for comfortable bikes and found 2 that I like- Cannondale Synapse and Cinelli Saetta Radical. Both carbon, both 105. Does anyone have and posi/nega opinions on these bikes?

  • think about your tumblr followers

  • That cervelo... My size.....

  • That older s5 is meant to be a bit soft up front. So if you smash it down winding hills. It's probably not the best choice.

To be honest, not killing me when I overcook a corner on a descent is the thing I feel most in a road bike.

Flex when climbing is annoying. But half the time that's shit wheels, or a crap Qr.

The propels look the best deal.

Looks like a great price for a propel with Ultegra Di2!

  • The front end of the Giant is absolutely solid.
Ultegra Di2 is brilliant, and would suit this bike perfectly.

That is definitely a great buy.

  • Cheap genesis volare 30, full 105 & fulcrum 5's for £900

  • I don't get it?

  • "Your mum and sister?"

Is the response you were looking for.

  • My bad. Clearly the wrong place to ask serious questions when you receive nonsensical answers.

  • I'm not surprised you've not got an answer. I've ridden a synapse. I didn't like it but that doesn't mean you wouldn't, or shouldn't buy one.

Whether or not it will solve your fit issues... is another thing. It sounds like you might benefit from a bike fit.

  • I still cant decide to get a genesis CDF for winter or if going custom is the best route. If I went custom I have no idea what im doing so could end up with a totally shit frame.

to get the CDF to fit, I will have 2cm less seatpost than my caad10 & about a 10mm shorter stem.. My caad10 fits perfect but doesnt have masses of seatpost on show as is.

    Do-able?
