Now that is a strange bike. Weird geometry, weird tire size, just weird everything. But for some reason it does look good and I would ride that.

Everything for gears too, except cable and shifter.

Chain needs a trim, but otherwise lovely.

It looks like it has 650b's on a 700c frame

My neighbour was clearing out his garage the other week, and offered me his Dawes Chevron that was in a decrepit state, and hadn't turned a wheel in over 25 years.

£20 wheelset off eBay, £15 Sugino Messenger chainset and bottom bracket off the same guy, and some parts from the bike cave, and it actually rides surprisingly well....

If you're running 700c in a 27" frame, put some fatties on it!

You may have a point there. The frame clearances are ridiculous at the moment. I've got some spare 28mm tyres in the garage that I'm tempted to fit.

I've just checked the chainstay clearances, and it's possible that I could fit 35c tyres in there. However, the rims are 622x14, so I wouldn't run more than a 32c on them.

That said, I'm trying to do this as economically as possible though, and I don't want to spend the same amount again as I've already ploughed into the project, just on tyres. Will keep an eye out for something suitable.

PX has these randonneurs in 35c for £7 and these Gary Baldys for only a tenner...

32c is about as big as I'll go on road rims also; 35c have to be run the same PSI as a 32c to keep them from feeling floppy.

I'm gasping on some shite wee cruiser type that I can use to get messages etc. Like a shitey bmx frame with lowrider handlebars and a coaster brake. Or no brakes. Some horrible looking thing but comfortable and I dont need to climb on.
