Drinking Evil Twin's Ashtray Heart smoked porter. It's like liquid german sausage.

Just been to hop burns and black for The Moa tasting event. Their beers were nice but only one that stood out was the 2012 sour blanc. Had a Tuatara APA which was excellent and a To ol \ Lervig sour NZ/Aus dry hopped sour which was very drinkable. Had two of the worst beers I've ever had in my life. Beavertowns New yuzilla lime berlinerwiesse monstrosity and Chorlton's Sandalwood which was like eating a joss stick.

I also hated the Beavertown lime berlinerwiesse, I struggled to finish it, and didn't really get what they were trying to do.
Actual sandlewood? In a beer? I'm out.

Yeah it's aged in sandalwood. Someone bought it and made us all try it as it was so bad.
-
• #4106
That sounds awful, sandalwood is a really overpowering fragrance. Do not want.

As a sour offering I thought the yuzilla was ok, ditto the Lemon. Mostly buy one of each Beavertown for the can art then repeat if the brew is nice enough.
Sandalwood is very Chorlton, not seen it or tried it, thankfully.

The Yuzilla can is awesome

Had the lemon Beavertown one last night after a cycle, very refreshing

Forgot to mention the Yuzilla I had with a veg stirfry and the lime really complimented the flavours.
Anyway, Heaven and Hell Double IPA. 9.2 not been above 7 for a while...

At a mate's in Walthamstow, the Spar there is quite something. Grabbed a bunch of Wild Beer stuff and some Crate offerings.

I got a Gluten Free badge in uptappd the other day. Can't remember what prompted it though. I could send you the list.

Visited Bank Top Ale House in Horwich during a MTB ride.
Patio at the rear with a gate for rolling bikes in, and speakers playing reasonably good music at a polite volume.
Very shiny bar, sooo many hand pumps, all Bank Top Brewery products priced around £2.40/pint.
Downside, it's halfway up a big hill.

Downside, it's halfway up a big hill.
Better than all the way up a big hill and means you can coast to unconscious bliss.
-
• #4121
To get home, you have to go over the hill, and it's too nice a pub to visit in the first half of a ride.
-
• #4122
Pub = home. Problem solved.
-
• #4123
I should buy a pub.
-
• #4124
I've probably 'invested' enough in pubs to own one by now... :S

Been stuck in a Greene King pub for the annual company pub quiz (came fourth). Their attempts at APAs are pish.
Had a few of them in Berlin, they are alright. Where did you get them from?
