It's a clever idea. Most forks have a couple foot of steerer, and only 1 1/2" needs to be reinforced. So reinforce the whole stem, or just use a bigger bung.
I just can't see them under building there forks with faith in their buyers.
I mean I nearly bought an EVO. I would have burnt the manual, used anything too heavy as fishing weights, and built it up with polystyrene foam bolts.
