I'm not doubting anything.
Mavic built a rim for disc brakes. They've possibly not built it with any regard to a set of brakes wearing away at that part of the rim (as they might do with a rim designed for rim brakes) which will of course effect its strength.
Although by the looks of things its overbuilt (as I said) so will be fine.

They built it with total regard for rim braking I think, then updated the marketing blurb over time as people wanted disc rims. I don't think the rim has changed - they just printed a new sticker with 'disc' on it.
Mavic EX721 26" MTB Rim. Extreme Mountain rim for sidewall rim braking Maxtal alloy is 30% stronger than 6061 without any extra weight SUP rim has a stronger arc-welded joint which is then milled to form an invisible join - eliminating juddering when braking Schrader drilled - but supplied with a rubber grommet for use with Presta valves if required Black anodised finish Weight: 590 grams
Well mavic think they have, not sure why you'd doubt them.
People ride painted rims (Archetypes for instance) and die only of natural causes. Did Mongoose use thick gloss enamel or something?
