Many of you will know Mark Knox who organises the architecture rides. He
has had his much loved touring cycle stolen. Description below. Would
people circulate this via social media to relevant outlets.
V Lyons Touring Cycle Stolen from Streatham Hill
Ruby red 21.5 inch touring frame, with
gold-lined lugs with heart cut-outs. Lamp boss on right fork. Cinelli
(sloping) fork
crown. Small transfers on down tube - "V. Lyons, Wandsworth Road" - in
gold cursive
script. Single large cursive gold "L" transfer on seat tube. Clear adhesive
chain-stay protector on left chain-stay. Bottle bosses and cage on top of
down tube
and in unusual position below down tube near to bottom bracket. Campagnolo
down-tube
friction gear levers, in simple flaring shape with brushed steel finish.
Dymotec 6
bottle dynamo attached to right fork, wired to Lumotec lamp on bracket
secured to
fork crown bolt. On handlebars, black and red Klickfix fitting in centre
for barbag.
Black bar tape with white stitching. a tear on the top left rear of the
bars. 1980s
non-aero (with the cables coming out of the top) Weinmann brake levers,
mounted
high, with quick-release faclity. Black cable housing throughout.
Cantilever brakes,
early style, with the tops sticking out horizontally. Campagnolo chrome
headset.
Chrome brake hanger on front. Wheels - Shimano Ultegra hubs on Mavic rims,
both 36
spoke. Quick- release with rubber covered skewer levers. Tyres - 700c, 25c,
Armadillo, I think. Undecorated brushed aluminium mudguards, with black
plastic
"secu-clips" attaching stays to front forks. Cable on top of crossbar. Black,
unweathered Brooks B17 Standard saddle, with black rails. Smooth chrome
seat pillar,
with remains of black lettiering on it. When stolen, a black spiral cable
lock
wrapped round the seat pillar. Brushed aluminium Blackburn rack on rear - not
horizontal, sloping down to back Tall reflector on rear mudguard. Chainset
vintage
double TA Cyclotourist, chromed, 5 pin fixing, with small rings - 26 & 42
teeth.
Pedals - one-sided with chrome teo-clips, with black cloth tape wrapped
round their
fronts, and black leather straps. On rear, 7 speed Shimano cassette,
13-30, I think.
Old Campagnolo Veloce rear derailleur. Here is a link to a
