Tesco is selling off film. Fujicolour 200, 24 exp.
Drugstores over here (after discontinuing their "own" film) switched to mostly selling Agfa Vista, or Kodak Ultramax for reasonable prices - but rolls of 24 everywhere now except for b/w.. sigh

I went to the massive one at Osterley, so I assume it's the big ones. It was really hard to find, at the back.

Anyone here used Fuji 400H much? I really like the look of some shots that have been pulled to iso200... Just the right amount of punch but not overkill.
-
• #10363
Fucking love the stuff, no examples to hand unfortunately but I actually much prefer it to porta 400 but if you're gonna pull it to 160 I feel portra 160 looks just as good in the range.
-
• #10364
Like these and yeah Im fully into the cinestill.....have you tried the 800 yet ?
-
• #10365
Cool. Yeah, I have mixed feelings about portra in general - it suits some things better than others and the colours with Fuji just seem to work better overall, especially with landscape stuff. Clues in the name I guess!
-
• #10366
Same, I love shooting the 160 sort of like a more tame ektar. The 400 is great for portraits but can leave other scenes feeling a bit flat or dull. pro400h manages to do both well.
800 bugs me because it's still daylight balanced.

Going to order some to experiment with...

I have 1 roll in the fridge, going to try it over the weekend hopefully. I was saving it because it's hard/expensive to get here but now I want to test the 800 then maybe do a big order from overseas...

Just been looking at loads of pictures taken with 400H over-exposed 1 stop. Such kinfolk...

Fuji just seem to work better overall
To be fair I did not shoot a lot of Fuji Pro 400H, just a handfull of rolls, but definately wouldn't say it's better overall compared with Portra.
I always found it very cool. Not nice with skin tones.
I made kind of a mental note, "use this film when the weather is bad".
So yeah I guess it's pretty good for landscape-stuff in the UK ;-)
It's also even more expensive than Portra over here, so I hardly ever buy it.I just found a store that sells 36 rolls of this "Kodak Ultramax 400".
Sounds pretty shit, but pictures I've seen so far are nice, so let's see. -
• #10372
Yeah, the posh films are a bit expensive, which is a turn-off... Curious to see how you get on with that Ultramax stuff...

@Franz Beckenbauer
Hey not strictly photo related but I'm in Berlin anything I should check out? -

Just got a bargain on an mju ii, however the lens is stuck. New battery fitted and everything seems to work apart from the lens and the view finder not displaying any sort of light. Anybody has come up with this problem before? Looked online but couldn't find much. Any help would be much appreciated. Gracias
