to be fair it's probably because I've done eff all long rides since March (apart from Mallorca - which has lovely surfaces). I doubt I would want to ride the AL for 5+ hours in Kent. I rode the r5 loads over the winter.
I did 3 london-brighton-london rides on it 120+ miles made me question a lot of things :P refreshingly comfortable and quick.
