Anyone fancy a ride this Wednesday or have we "inverted" the fortnightly schedule?

Office leaving drinks this Weds

• #230
Yours?
-
• #231
I could be persuaded...
-
• #232
Nah, two colleagues are leaving - one to your neck of the woods, another to Taunton
-
• #233
Do you think a guy riding a 42/15 (2.8) ratio could follow the pace or would it be too "spinny"? If so I would be interested in joining of these days (this Wednesday for instance!)

42/17 to 42/16 would be the standard gearing for these so you will be fine on your gearing.

@cgg would be good to have you along. Please have a read of the guide here: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/253505/ it'll give you an idea of what the rides are like. When we have finally decided what we are doing I'll post the ride up an event with a link to it here.

Talking of deciding, I'm feeling lazy so fancy either Potters Bar or Chingford. Anyone have any opinions?
-
• #237
Will do - I actually wanted to join last week but did not have proper lights back then. As for the location, well, I've been in London for 10 days so I'll let you decide :)
I'll get myself a map now, which one should I buy ? (I already have a London A-Z atlas)

The Victoria line is closed between 7sisters and E17 so the Chingford train is a lot busier than normal until the end of August. So whilst E4 means I could meet you part way round and join you at the pub, I would suggest Potters Bar as a better option.

Lazy is good, Potters Bar is fine with me..

• #240
me too..

Phone maps are usually ok but coverage can be limited. Probably not worth buying a map tho, perhaps just print a page or two out if you're worried.

Looks like Potters Bar then.
-
• #243
Ride's up...
-
• #244
Don't forget your waterproofs. Looks like thunder and hail tomorrow with winds gusting to 40mph.
-
• #245
I'm very possibly in for this.
-
• #246
working late tonight so won't be able to join
when i first came to london i used an AZ to get about. those were the days....
-
• #247
It's an 'on week' correct? If so then to the mysterious controller I suggest The Widowmaker what with the thunder and lightening forecast for tomorrow.
-
• #248
I'm up for tomorrow evening. Forecast looks awesome :)
-
• #249
Cool, but it's pretty unlikely that I can do a ride this week. Perhaps someone can step in an lead a ride?
-

Ok well I'd like to give whitedown a bash even tho I'm pretty sure I'm not up to it. I'll lead (done the five hills once) but pls note I'm following the garmin not any knowledge of the route
hmm, prefer Hemel' Fix it!
