Well its not expensive to swap out the chainset, but is it the best choice? I loved the look of the beast from the east but they dont have any in stock still November.
Im guessing the charge is slightly better spec because its a cheaper frame?

Not really. The fork and wheels ( the most expensive upgrade ) on the dale are better. Transmission is simply SRAM vs Shimano at a similar level.
Cycle solutions don't have the Charge in anything bigger than the large, which I'd say is a bit too small for you.

@spotter - The Cannondale looks like a decent enough spec for the price. The Octalink chainset is outdated for sure, but the shifting will be fine.
Nice that it comes with a tubeless set up.
