• So in the past few months Nottingham and Derby have been waging war in terms of awesome new things for cyclists.

    Derby's new velodrome is perfection.
The pump track down the road from it is hilarious fun.
    The NDCXL is grass-roots fantastic.
The local race scene is massive, well organised and friendly.
The Peak District is your door to the perfect world of MTB or road fun.
The roads are quiet, there are bike lanes literally everywhere, many completely segregated, and in general, people are too damn friendly (bar at commute time).

And now Nottingham, not wishing to miss out, has built this:

Move there. Now. Enjoy a cycling paradise.

  • I used to live in Nottingham, and commuted to derby daily. Moved away about 3 years ago and missed all of this!

Derby was a shocker to ride in though. People cannot fucking drive there, and EVERYONE hates cyclists.

  • Pity Nottingham city council ruined the track at Harvey Haddon,by adding 2 lanes to the running track I used to love the Wednesday night track night same go s for saffron lane track in Leicester , that got closed down .
