Long Z2/3 rides - start out with HR stubbornly low for power zone, end up with it higher. Longer steady state rides I'm at 9-10% 'decoupling'.
According to Friel HR decoupling is a sign of poorer aerobic fitness.

or maybe not?

I averaged 190 over my last 20 min FTP test so it's a bit odd I could do the same for over an hour.
It's not that unusual actually. Same for power.
I think all the swimming nonsense means your HR will have already drifted a bit though in this instance.

190bpm for an hour?
Ur... What? -

Should probably mentioned that it was a team triathlon, so I only did the bike leg.
HR attached. Was very unfit coming into the race having just recovered from an illness so perhaps that may have contributed. But alas I am not alone as @umop3pisdn demonstrated upthread

My chest hurts just looking at those graphs
-

I was just a bit sick looking at that. I thought it was bad that I can do 180 for an hour.
-
• #5610
DCR says you should and I suspect reasonably good (but I've no real reason for my suspicions).

Feck.
I can push 165 for an hour.
My heart is fat.

Fecking vectors.
Sick of them now.
Haven't got the cash to replace the pod that's just fallen apart, let alone buy something else. Will scrape the cash for a new pod and start saving for a power2max.
-
• #5614
You have the new pods don't you? What have you done to them? I'm feeling a bit like that too...
-
• #5615
No the originals, I replaced the bodies 2 weeks ago because of wear and it seems the same fate is about to happen to my pods as happened to yours... For the moment the bit that makes contact with the pedal/crank has come half off, it looks like corrosion, which is annoying as when I replaced the bodies I cleaned them and they've been working really well ever since...

Probably not the right place to post but what's the best substitute to a Garmin head unit? Doesn't seem to like connecting to my Rotor or any other pm or sensor for that matter. I was thinking an SRM head unit but the PC8 is many dollar

• #5617
Another Garmin?
PCs only connect to SRMs IIRC.

There was an emulation mode which could make a Quarq speak to a PC7 I believe, but that would mean having a Quarq, which I'm quite keen to avoid.
Which Garmin are you having issues with?
-
• #5619
Hmmm which Garmin? Not normally a problem although they seem to keep putting out dodgy firmware upgrades. PC8 is lovely - mainly for the screen layout - but pricey if you don't buy it bundled.

Im using an edge 810. Power, heart rate and speed are constantly dropping out on rides. Also keeps going into some weird reset mode and then wiping the whole thing losing rides (making my coach very happy to see an empty tp)
-
• #5621
Sounds FUBAR, I'd send it back to Garmin for a re-con unit.
I've got an 810 and it performs far better than yours.
-
• #5622
I can only manage 162 but for 6 hours. My heart is old
-
• #5623
Also FUBAR. Re-con unit an option?

@ewanmac I did the upgrade on my vectors to the v2 pods last night, annoyingly in the pack come new bearings and a tool, so if I'd just cone that way in the first place rather than buying whole new bodies I could have saved myself £110.
the new pods are very simple to install, as they just bolt on to the shoulders of the pedals, the only faff is that the v1 pedal spindles require a spacer to cover the original shoulder where the v1 pods goes and its slightly fiddly to install with the spacer in place.
if anyone needs a replacement v1 pod I have one working one and one bust one.

I think we've had this conversation before in this thread. My max, and this is at an actual race, where I was actually racing, is 172.
I have Vectors on my track bike, I am considering putting them on the Serotta - should I get some P1's instead?
What are the odds of being able to use the same cleats in both?
