  • Planning a functional fixed so I dropped into BC to have a look at a steamroller. Only to find that surly have specced the steamroller without eyelets on the front fork, not very functional.

So would appreciate suggestions for alternatives.

Only real absolute requirements are eyelets f&r and not canti/v brakes.

  • Does it have to be new?

Dawes and Ridgeback made fixed road oriented bikes with mudguard mounts. Or most bike with flat rear dropouts could be drilled and tapped for rear guards then just replace the fork.

Otherwise new look at Pearson - very nice in the flesh.

Also have a search for fox's thread about fixed frames with mudguard eyes and bottle bosses.

  • Definitely doesn't have to be new. I would probably prefer an older frame from purely aesthetic reasons.

But finding an older frame with a 58/59 toptube, 60+ seat tube, eyelets and decent clearance is challenging
