Couple found guilty over sex act at Hyde Park concert
One man who was nearby the couple at the time of the incident, Mike Holden, filmed them on his phone.
He told the court that he had been "shocked" at what he saw, and it had caused a "significant amount of embarrassment and trying to divert attention".
He said people ranging from eight-year-olds to adults were among the crowd.yes pal...stick to that story. wac

Apparently, for Cycling Weekly, it's news that a cyclist jumped six red lights. So much so, that they've posted a video of it on Facebook with the headline: "Cyclist doesn't see red". Comments are obvious.
Maybe this should be in Epic WTF instead.

I honestly thought the footage from that explosion was fake at first. It looks like Cloverfield or something.

It was top story on the Standard website for a time. You'd think nothing else happened today...

Reuters is reporting that the warehouse was mostly storing large amounts of ammonium nitrate, and that firefighters may have inadvertently helped detonate it by spraying water onto the fire as there were also large amounts of calcium carbide:
http://uk.reuters.com/article/2015/08/14/uk-china-blast-idUKKCN0QJ01H20150814Calcium carbide + water = highly explosive acetylene. Acetylene detonated by a fire would be a perfect catalyst for the ammonium nitrate.
Mankind never seems to learn when it comes to ammonium nitrate, this list is pretty woeful:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ammonium_nitrate_disastersN.b. A lot of talk about China's rapid industrial expansion and prioritising growth over safety but it's worth pointing out that the most recent serious AN explosion (15 people killed) was in West, Texas, two years ago.

It's a key ingredient in fertiliser, people the world over are not going to stop making, transporting and using it.

Also an incredible explosion (Texas)... Absolutely mental business, the pics and video of the aftermath are staggering...

Indeed, but it's not too much to ask for them to handle it in a safe way, which is totally possible. It's mainly about not storing it near combustible substances, not difficult. Nearly all of these disasters have been totally avoidable.

Been reading up the wiki you've posted, fucking hell.
The vivid description made it sound very much like a nuclear explosion without the radioactivity.
Topee was one of my earliest memories of speech therapy, it's a nice feeling actually getting it.
