I wanted a bike with electronic shifting, hydraulic disc brakes, compliance for my damaged back, that takes similar spec wheels as the commuto x bike.
Cannondale Synapse met those requirements and the geometry/fit is nearly identical to my custom made bikes. When the 2016 bikes were published I was gutted as the plain black and white bike with perfect spec for me was being replaced with a green frame but identical spec.
I had been eyeing the bike up for a while and the prices got reduced and very quickly the size and spec I wanted started to sell out. Luckily Sigma still had one in stock with 15% off and they agreed to price match with Westbrook cycles who only had one of the bikes left in stock at 20% off and it was my size.
The stock wheels are mundane mavic aksiums but they will make a perfect spare wheelset for either this or the commuto x bike.
Fabric Spoon Saddle was not too comfortable so have swapped it for an Arione that was in my parts bin that matches the new bike.
Reynolds Assault wheels arrived today, and when the Schwalbe one tyres arrive they will be set up tubeless.
Steerer needs chopping but I hope to see @scherrit to get it dialled in. Also stock bars are 44 cm, my chest is not so wide so think these will need to be replaced with a 42 but again want a fitters advice on this.
So far these are the bits that have been taken off and this is the new toy as it stands.
