So I still have this little beauty - it seems there aren't too many lanky streaks of piss like me out there who are on the look out for a beauty like this.... time to try again:
Frame Size: 62cm
Color: Deep Water Blue
Wheel Size: 26" (takes 700c too - with the right brakes, see below)
Condition: Used but in good condition - small surface scuffs but no dings or dents. Pictures built up in 26" goodness and 700c experiment - possible with the Paul Comp Brakes I have, just proves how versatile this baby is (clearances are tight but those are 38mm tyres I think).
Frame: 100% Surly 4130 CroMoly steel. Main triangle double-butted. TIG-welded
Fork: Uncut, 4130 CroMoly, lugged and brazed. Proprietary sloping crown with threaded eyelets, tapered and butted curved blades with mid-blade rack eyelets, dual dropout eyelets
Rear Dropouts: Vertical, 135mm O.L.D.
Brake Compatibility: Rim brake pivots front and rear (cantilever or linear pull)
Braze-ons: Upper bosses and dropout eyelets for racks front and rear, fender eyelets, pump peg, downtube lever bosses, two sets of cage bosses, rear housing stop for rim brakes, housing stops for brake and derailleurs, emergency spoke mounts, S&S couplers
Seatpost diameter: 27.2mm
Headset: 1-1/8˝ threadless - this will come with a Cane Creek Century installed - lifetime Guarantee on this baby!
Seatpost clamp: 30.0mm (Surly stainless included)
Front Derailleur Clamp Diameter: 28.6mm (bottom-pull)
Bottom bracket shell: 68mm wide, threaded standard English (1.37˝ x 24t) - can leave the Sugino 113mm installed if needed, runs smooth as butter.
Chainring Clearance: 42/53t double, 38/52/56t triple
Tire Clearance: 26˝ x 2.1˝ with or without fenders
In my uneducated view these frames are pretty over priced when new but they are extremely versatile like all Surly bikes with the added benefit of having the S&S couplers to make travel much much easier, whether it be loading in to a car or travelling by plane. I will include the cable couplers with the sale as well as the wrench for the couplers.
