• So my max heart rate is 197. And I averaged 190 over a 25 mile course (London tri on sat) for 1hr08. Does that mean my threshold HR is 190? Seems too close to max to make sense?

    Fuck, I don't even hit 190BPM avg when running a 5k sprint, let alone when cycling for an hour. Something looks dodgy, or you're a freak, or both?

  • My max is 205 (though I haven't seen it for a while) and I've averaged over 190 for a 25 before. But I think high average HR is a sign of bad pacing, rides that I know I've paced well with PM have lower average HR than badly paced rides with lower average power.
