  • Hi,

Bought this frame and forks ages ago from someone on here whose name I can't type, (T) but in unicode.

Tried putting parts on it from my old track bike, but decided it looked odd - the old bike was a black frame and silver components, but silver components on a Ti bike just looked a like mismatched shiny overkill.

So, I've gone with black components. Finally started putting it all together this week.

So far - Deda seat post and adjustable stem, and Deda RHM drops.
Wheels are Halos on Goldtec hubs (also procured on here).
Cranks are black omniums, 165 length.
Seat is a brooks cambium c15. I know some people hate brooks, but my arse likes them. I have a swift on the geared audax bike and I can sit on it for ten hours very happily. The c15 is quite like the swift in shape - it's quite a bit narrower than the c17.
Bottle cages are Lezynes. Pedals are Atac XCs. Brakes campagnolo, fairly basic. Tektro levers (also from on here).

Now I need to sort out the steerer and get the chain and brake cables sorted... Umming and ahing about how short to cut the steerer though. Was thinking two spacers, one above one below, but not decided.

  • Yeah, that's the idea. No stem slamming, I'm not so limber as I was when I was in my twenties... Once I've got the chain on and brakes connected I'll see how it fits, but a preliminary sit on the bike makes me think space for two 10mm spacers should give me room for adjustment. Plus I can always adjust the stem.
