  • Yeah I know it's a crazy idea really. The top is the best bit I think so I can't see the logic of replacing that. It's a well cared for but well played 1980s D28 copy. Solid spruce top and (I think) laminate rosewood back and sides. Guess i'll just stick to the usual set-up and new nut, pins and saddle. Then start saving for that Gibbo.

  • What strings do you use btw?

    I know everyone has their preference for whatever reason but all the 'usual' acoustic strings go very dead very quickly in my hands. I can't and won't use anything other than Thomastik Spectrums. Even if you're settled with a brand and haven't tried these, I urge you to.

    Could do with some recs for electric, always used a combo of whatevers/EBs but the last pack of EBs I opened had black corrosion on the unwounds. Supposed to be sealed but I guess the shelf life is a thing.
    Have some Newtones which I'm going to try next. Never liked Dds or Elixir or anything coated(!)
