  • Hoooooooooly Shit. Not pretty is right.

Still congrats for having the balls to do this. I'll be following phase2 with interest.

  • Ok, I know I've done some puppy killing in the past, but this is just plain carnage..

  • lol. I really want this to work #teamjdmitch

  • It so will work. Will cool when gussets are on. Any ideas for the paint?

    Also #teamjdmitch

  • And a fucking Spinergy.

    Waow.

  • Needs Cinelli M71 'Suicide' pedals and some Lambert Aerospace 'Death' forks for the full death wish effect.

  • I'm trying to keep the truly lethal components on the back of the bike - somehow feels less life-threatening ;)

  • Miche Seatpost?

  • If you really like risks you should complete the job with a Modolo X-Eras stem (it might be a good reason to improvise cutting a new thread on the forks you already have):

  • .

  • Ok apologies in advance for a picture-heavy post, but here are the three options I am thinking of for the gussets. First, methodology - using the usual #teamjdmitch approach of overengineering I:

    1. Put the bike down on a flip chart to trace the frame where the gussets will go:

    1. Cut out the gussets between the seat tube and the seat stays
    2. Drew up 3 options for the gussets in the central area (A,B and C)

    1. Cut out the paper gusset options and taped them to the frame in the three variants
    2. A slightly "minimalist" gussets, basically just rounding out the inner edges:

-B heavier webbing, on the top and seat tube in particular, because they are thinner than the down tube, with the idea being that the overall look will be more balanced from the profile:

-C slightly lighter webbing on the top and seat tubes, but more dramatic curves, possibly more "streamlined" looking:

If I have missed out on any possibilities, or any other options I should take into account let me know (preferably illustrated with a shitty MS-Paint drawing of what you are describing, though a picture of a real bike will do).

Once all of the possibilities have been submitted, I might do a little poll or something to see what the people want. Thanks!

  • all the images are broken.

    appropriate

  • Yeah can't see any of them either

  • looks like dropbox is letting me down... maybe I should try posting them through google drive :/ ?

  • Use imgur.com

  • Just glue some dropbox to a google and hey presto

  • I always do that. Works all the time. Can also upload to google plus and use that.

  • I've always found the abbreviation of this thread oddly apt
