Sounds like a good idea.
I might work as a 'psycho logo just' for burnt out ultra racers.

I saw one HT550 finisher I know also helping out at the start of the Ditchling Devil 200km Audax this year and was still hobbling around almost 2 weeks after (he finished HT550 in just over 7 days I think).
There's only one way to find out how it'll affect you. Do it!

Yeah, it's funny, I felt great after Tour Divide, bit sleepy the first week, but after having a lot of sleep that week, I felt strong, fit, alert. Now, a month later, I'm really tired all the time again, and generally feeling pretty crap! These things take time

@gabes have you written anything anywhere about TD? Watching your tracker and then @skinny's TCR tracker has got me wanting to do something.

I started writing a blog post, but haven't finished. Work is super busy so not sure when I'll get around to finishing! I'll post up when I do.

What happened to that Round the World race that some people were trying to promote? Lack of interest? It was real expensive so must've had a very limited market.

Busy doing 'other shit' I guess

Well done to Kristof. I know that Steve has finished, but it's impossible to tell how far back he is because, as has been mentioned, the incompetent twats at Red Bull have left everybody completely fucking mystified as to what's been going on for the last 3 weeks. I've told Steve to use whatever strength is left in his body to batter the organisers.
Anyhow, they now have a 9 hour flight just to get back to the start.

Kristof has been tweeting updates after each stage, I think this is the overall timing, taken from his feed

What's the finish fail?
-
• #239
I think (though you'd never know from the shit website etcetc) that if you didn't make it to the end of one stage in time for the cutoff, you got a number of penalty hours and were allowed to start the next day.

I got the time from the Belgian newspapers, maybe wrong/over chauvinistic/pure moving time.

(nevermind, there was a comment here but I misread yours)

Mark Beaumont just rode the North Coast 500 in in <38 hours, assume it's quite a scenic route - 830km, 10300m climbing

Ht550
I have to race this.
Anyone raced it? What's the deal with entry, who do I need to bribe?
-
• #249
Do a qualifying ride (think this is still a requirement, one of the ITT group starts or possibly just an ITT covers it...). Entries open on the 28th November, figure out the resupply points, then all you need to do is turn up on the day and be prepared for a lot of pushing!
-
• #250
There's no qualification mechanism, just register when the registration opens and hopeyou're quick enough to get a place. The organiser limits the ride to 40 starters for the main event but will take around 60-80 entrants and run a waiting list based on expected drop outs.
Alternatively, just download the route, go and ride it and submit your results (GPS and/or spot tracker log needed). You'll be credited with your ride in the same year as you've ridden it, just the same as any of those starting in the mass event.
Yeah you need a crew. Seems to be a growing market for this kind of stuff now. Might pitch myself as an endurance cycling consultant.
