I'm pretty glad Im just a promuter these days otherwise I would have probably pulled the trigger on those ghastly trade jerseys.

I sold my PT jacket to fund my PT cape.
It bugged me that I couldnt take the jacket off.
The Cape just about fits in a pocket. But it does.
When we descended the Nibbe in the snow, the rest of my body was very jealous of the cape covered bits. -

While we're talking Gabba, what is the sizing like? I am 5'8" 68kg and wear a small Rapha jersey - do I want the same in Gabba?
-
• #21706
Go and try at Evans cycles or something
-
• #21708
Im 5'7" (55kg) & I wear a small which is nice & snug with a jersey underneath. A medium & I could probably wear a base layer & winter jersey.
So depending on how much you want to wear under the gabba you would be a medium.... -

Won the works lotto this morning (triple rollover, get in!) , so I splurged on the long sleeved Gabba.
I thought I was going to struggle to find it still on offer in my size/color but managed to find it for less than £120 delivered.

I ordered some castelli nanoflex knickers to pair up with my Gabba jersey.
This winter I want to ride more in spite of the weather.

What colour did you go for?

Black

Nice. Same as me. Blue is a nice colour but I can't imagine very practical.
-
• #21714
What size did you have? I can't remember if it was yours or @Dammit's that fit best.
I may just buy two sizes and send oneback, I guess.

• #21715
Or not. Nothing in stock. You suck, Rapha.

The Gabba chat over the last few pages has still left me bewildered as to what it actually is. Is it a jacket, is it a jersey, is it a short sleeve jacket?
Someone start a guide to Gabba!

Nothing I like in the Rapha sale, but I did just buy a Cannondale green SS Gabba in medium from Tredz for £69.99. Whether I'll actually get it or not, we'll see!

A quick search in Google provides the following informative article:
The Brisbane Cricket Ground, commonly known as The Gabba,[2][3] is a major sports stadium in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland. It is named after the suburb of Woolloongabba, in which it is located.
The land on which the ground sits was first set aside for use as a cricket ground in 1895 and the first cricket match was held on the site on 19 December 1896, between Parliament and The Press. Prior to this, cricket was played at the cricket ground located in the area then known as 'Green Hills' (then located beside Countess Street Petrie Terrace opposite the Victoria Barracks – now occupied by the Northern Busway),[4] since at least the early 1860s.[5]
The Gabba shared first-class cricket matches with the Exhibition Ground until 1931. The first Sheffield Shield match at The Gabba was scheduled to be played between 31 January 1931 and 4 February 1931, but it was washed out without a ball being bowled. The first Test match at The Gabba was played between Australia and South Africa between 27 November and 3 December 1931.
Over the years, The Gabba has hosted athletics, Australian rules football, baseball, concerts, cricket, cycling, rugby league, rugby union, soccer and pony and greyhound races.
Between 1993 and 2005, The Gabba was redeveloped in six stages at a cost of A$128,000,000. The dimensions of the playing field are now 170.6 metres (east-west) by 149.9 metres (north-south) to accommodate the playing of Australian Football at elite level. The seating capacity of the ground is now 42,000.

To the Sun bundle arrived today. Fuck me, the PTJ is cut small. I bought L as my old Cross Jersey in XL is way too big. I reckon 5 kg less fat and I'd be fine, but those fuckers fit tight!
And they're showing as out of stock, so an exchange isn't possible. Hmmm.

Soooooo, now that Gabba debate is settled and my top half is sorted for the winter. Next order of the day is bottom half: What do we reckon? Rapha PT Winter tights? Something by Assos / Castelli?
I've been wearing some dhb superroubaix ones for the past 3 winters and the pad has had it - never was keen on the pad anyway, anything over 50 miles became torturous. Toasty though, no complaints there.

There's nothing special about Rapha bibs IMHO. I use bibs (with a good pad) under simple superroubaix tights (Santini, Geordana, Rapha, Champ Sys or team kit... basically whatever).
Lots of friends swear by Lusso for winter shorts/tights. They were doing the water repelling thing long ago and the lycra weight is nice.
Oh ok. If the Castelli is the comfortable thing (with pockets) then they're very similar.
