wanted to put some Black omniums with the sliver 44RN, but the drive side is so tight that it just skims the chainstay which is a bit of a bummer. Is there any way i could use BB spacers to give me some room?

There's a thread for that. To move the chainline on a GXP crank, you don't space the cups away from the frame, you have to space the axle shoulder away from the NDS bearing, because that's what defines the axial position of the crankset.
