Yeah, this boggles my mind too.

I know. I'm sure it is more prevelant in those that drive expensive machines too. Perhaps it's a London thing and the fact my commute takes me through chelsea? Either way, less sympathy if you're in some massive gas guzzler.

The butler doesn't know how to connect the phone to the car.
-
• #11705
No, it's not a London thing.
I think it's an I'm so rich I don't give a toss thing.
-
• #11706
Read somewhere recently that research has shown that the more luxury-priced the vehicle, the more likely the driving's arrogant/aggressive. #statingthebleedinobvious

• #11707
I fear we are doing that thing here - that thing where drivers see a couple of cyclists run a red light and blame them all.
-
• #11708
Nah, it's been scientifically proven that all rich people are awful human beings.

Nah, it's been scientifically proven that all rich people are awful human beings.
Sadly it doesn't work the other way. I'm not rich.

Yeah! Fuck those red-light running, rich cunts! I bet the men all beat their wives and the women are always demanding to speak to the manager everywhere.

Meh, I always notice the talking on phone thing from people driving vans, trucks, etc. Don't think talking on the phone like a cunt is a class thing. Driving a cunt car like a cunt is a class thing, but not in the traditional class definition. It's more a cunts-drive-cunt-cars-and-drive-them-like-cunts, and has previously been stipulated. I'm not sure I've said cunt enough in this post yet. Cuntsticks!

Ah well, that cunt got a talking to at least. Just realised this is in completely the wrong thread anyway. Shoulda been in the Dangerous Cunts thread>>>>

Even hands free is dangerously distracting according to at least one study..... http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/06/130612092949.htm

Yeah but you've got to let the poor drivers have something, you can't expect them to just pay attention to the road all the time. They might get bored. Do you want that on your conscience?
-
• #11717
According to the highway code and all. It says, over and over again, that talking on the phone, using the phone at all, changing radio stations, using a satnav - all these things will take your attention off the road. But hey, DRIVING. It's more important.

What I always find odd is that a new range rover must have Bluetooth built in
Doesn't Bluetooth rove over a range, too?
-
• #11719
That is woeful Oliver.

Mission accomplished.

anyone remember that video where the courier chap on the old bike just blazes through a junction, he,s well know on here and I cant for the life of me find the video

I must be a rarity among my cycling buddies as I thoroughly enjoyed that film. I want a sequel.

New safety feature called ‘hold the left turn’ announced by TFL:-
https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/safety-and-security/cycle-safey-innovations?intcmp=28472
Watch at 34 seconds and onward, as the self-righteous cyclist in red helmet, yellow t-shirt, and green shorts (red, yellow, green - geddit - he's undertaking as the traffic lights change - not quite sure of the relevance) undertakes a line of traffic and then gets creamed by a car turning left.
Oh wait, it doesn't quite happen like that on the video, so maybe that'll be in the real-life sequel.

Called out a pavement warrior this morning. Got abuse. We went our separate ways.
What I always find odd is that a new range rover must have Bluetooth built in, mustn't it? My basic, bottom of the range, cheapest you can get Golf does, so surely a range rover does. But you see it all the time. Laziness? Arrogance? Ignorance?
