Don't suppose anyone has experience of this:
massfidelity.com/products/core
Seems too good to be true. There aren't any reviews from this country that I can find. Though I think an order did go out a while back so someone somewhere can confirm or deny claims made. For that kind of money I'd consider the B&O Beolit 15
I have one next to me now, and it sounds fantastic. Fair bit of money, but for me it's good enough to replace a decent system, plus it doubles as our car stereo as the speakers in our merc is utter shit

Can we do car stereos here? I have a 2008 VW polo on which I desperately want to upgrade the stereo to DAB with some sort of iphone interface. The amp/speakers sound fine it's just the front end I need upgrated.
I'm taking the car in for service and to have a few electrical niggles fixed in a couple of weeks so makes sense to get it all fitted at the same time. Any recommendations?

I asked an auto-electrician about getting an aftermarket DAB stereo installed and he said it was a right ballache, requires an extra aerial to be fitted and isn't all that great apparently. Make of that what you will, but I didn't bother with it in the end.
If you intend to wirelessly listen to music/use it to make calls etc it's worth considering whether the head unit can handle APTX, the 'lossless' bluetooth audio codec that's supposed to be quite a step up from A2DP. There are a fair few phones that can do it but a lot that can't, so might not be relevant for you yet (or ever), guess it depends how long you want to keep the car and the phone that you use.

i have a stereo with a usb inlet that you can have for a few beers. no dab, though.

It actually has an "ipod" (30 pin) style cradle factory fitted, which is odd because there is seemingly no "ipod" or aux in setting on the stereo itself. I tried an iphone 5 in it with lightning adaper but no sign of charging or a connection.
BRM that would be amazing. A usb in would at least let me listen to spotify/itunes and stream interent radio right? Let's drink some beers and set price in beers (or cash). Will drop you a line. Thanks man.

most modern cars let you connect via bluetooth to the speakers, and then just stream music from player or whatever streaming radio/website you prefer. I've had mixcloud going to the car for a couple of long journeys the only thing you really need if this is the preferred route is to make sure you can power your phone....

Ok so my SMSL Q5 (2x50w class d tripath amp thing) turned up. It's brilliant. £70 for a tiny little amp with RCA, coaxial, toslink and USB inputs. Comes with a little remote too. Sounds great, hooks straight up to my PC which instantly recognised it and then runs the digital audio straight into the amp, no conversion to analog until the power stage at proper high bitrate.
Had a go through the Mission 731s I bought off ebay, they're alright and will do fine for desk speakers.
Bought a pair of TDL RTL2s off ebay tonight and been having a bit of a listen. They sound incredible for the price, very happy with them.

Did you ever sell this?
Hi is anyone here interested in a thorens td125 turntable ?
PM me if soHi all ... Would anyone who knows lots about decks care to offer their opinion on these?
Quite fancy a 'new' deck for my Quad33&303 & Tannoy LGM setup. Mainly because my 2000s NAD has no ground lead and ever since I started using a phono pre I'm getting an on-off staticy buzz thing.

I might need to shift my b&w 602 s3s. Bit too bulky for the new place. Any ideas for good small bookshelf speakers that look nice?

OK so may need some servicing to get it up to top condition.
I'd appreciate any info about how it is, your location and a price. Thanks.

Anybody want some Wharfedale Diamond 9s for mates' rates? Great little speakers, I just traded up to some Q Acoustics and they're taking up garage space.

Just to chime in again regarding my new old TDL RTL2 speakers. They're awesome. Turns out a well tuned transmission line speaker is amazing. Such bass, many clarity, wow.

Harbeth make an excellent small speaker which is unvented which makes it more suitable for small rooms. Designed as an LS3/5a replacement. All depends on your budget though.

They look good - and pricey... I might just do a swap with my dad's 601s. Sure he'll be up for that.

Anyone on here got any experience of TDL studio 1 speakers?
Anyone got any experience of Tripath amps? Got an SMSL Q5 on order, going to pair it up with the Mission 731 speakers I bought off ebay recently.
Got a Mission 73c centre speaker and two 73s satellite speakers with them as well but not sure what I'm going to do with them...
