  • According to the tracker he is still moving

  • You don't magically get whisked away if you scratch, you've still got to make your own way home.

Looks like he's on the way to the airport, hopefully for a flight to Istanbul.

  • To the airport I assume.

  • Top effort @skinny, you'll be back next year (or for something else in between) and will smash it then.

  • Rider 146 at CP4 but no record of him on the tracker listing. How come?

  • Brilliant ride and amazing effort. Looking forward to following@skinny 's dot in 2016

  • I think it's genetic. I was called a bumble bee (fat, but can somehow still fly) and a rugby player yesterday. These audax types are way meaner than TTers. :P

  • Thanks for all your support guys.

Nothing I would do different, just one of those things. I need to go see a sports physio and see why it happened. I did core work and part of that was neck strengthening exercises so it wasn't like j didn't prepare.

Some have said I pushed to hard, but that's what it's about. All in to win or nothing. The in between isn't worth it. Sometimes planets align, but when the stakes are as high as they are here it is rare they do.

You support is inspiring and great. Yeah I'll be back, I've seen what I can do and in honesty I was getting stronger and body feeling better but just neck. So I know I can win these races with a few more years I me, I'm only 24 and this was my first attempt!

Next year will be harder now, I need to find some support and without a win or top finish it will be harder to get, one of the reasons it took so much abuse and really totally impossibility to cycle before I stopped. So ill have to go away and assess what I can do.

But yeah, thanks and sorry I couldn't bring the goods. Nothing I could do different, just sometimes doesn't work out as you'd like.

  • As someone who doesn't follow sport or racing of any kind, this has kept me riveted. You've been completely awe-inspiring!

What kind of support do you need? (Sorry for the daft question)

  • Thanks that's kind!

Sponsors of bikes stuff really. Maybe getting to races money too.

Next year I go back to uni full time to study civil engineering so if I want to train properly and study I will struggle to work to earn enough money. I can fund myself and will, but it will mean sacrifices on training time to work, as studying won't get sacrificed this time.

I want to have a go at a 24h tt next year for experience, give hippy some competition and try a few mtb adventure races in experience for doing tour divide in future. If they go well then I'd like to try RAAM in a few years time if people believe in me. I believe in me now.

  • I'd like to try RAAM in a few years time if people believe in me. I believe in me now.

Pretty sure everyone here would agree that we do too!

  • Amazing effort, @skinny

As hoefla said, you've seriously kept me glued to the tracker. Absolutely infuckingcredible. Hats off mate. Hope you and Iz have a nice wind down in Istanbul - you deserve it!

  • Happy to provide a custom Talbot frame and fork for next years challenge.

  • With some sort of chin rest, possibly.

  • Thanks Neil that's kind. I need to have a think and see what I can come up with. Really I need a mtb and ttbike and gear if I want to have a hit at the 24h.
    I'll remember you offer though.

Did you see ultans tt bike? Custom made carbon luggage, you'd like it.

    Thanks @jb

  • From what I read so far it seems to be fixable/manageable but needs physio attention to stop it happening. Sadly once you have it it seems to come back. So going to have to take a serious approach to dealing with it. Hopefully find a physio who's keen to help.

  • Epic ride @skinny, you've been an inspiration to everyone here. Rest up and get back out there and dominate the BUCS TT's while you are back at uni!

  • Speak to @bluerip00 or http://www.velophysio.co.uk/

They've both helped me out in the past.

  • @skinny - @bluerip00 is Michael Crebbin, who I recommended to you on Twitter. He's treated quite a few of us on here over the years, is a cyclist himself, and very, very good.

  • I can't speak for @blueripoo but velophysio I have found very helpful in the past.

  • From my experience Michael seems to be fully on your side when it comes to average ride mileage ;-)

  • What a lad @skinny, what a fucking lad. Much more inspiring than any highly paid pro tour rider.

  • @skinny Your performance off the bike has been even more impressive than that on the bike. I suspect that we shall be following your exploits and adventures for years.
