BMC need another GC rider to replace Cadel. So I think it's a wise move for them, and should take the pressure off Van Garderen.
It's only a one year deal though.
Why just a one year deal, is Porte backing himself to get a better deal elsewhere after the year is up? Bmc not wanting to create a Movistar type rivalry when they've put all their eggs in the TvG basket?
As it stands they've only got confirmed sponsorship until the end of 2017.
