I've decided that I really should be buying an 'adventure road bike' which is basically a CX frame with slick 32s and compact chainset. ABRs are not to be confused with endurance bikes (which are for old people and cant go off-road)
The only problem with ABRs is that they are FUGLY for example the GT Grade
