  • That's a badass achievement Gabes. Been following you on instagram and it looks like it's been an amazing couple of weeks

  • I was just coming to post that.

  • I met Jill a couple of times on route, she was having a really tough time. I'm glad she had the sense to stop riding and recover. There's always next time!

  • Finally got my pics up on flickr: https://flic.kr/s/aHskgAJkFA

  • Looks shit. Uxbridge Road is way better.

  • Looks awesome from the photos!
    one day

  • Have you posted a kit list somewhere?

  • wowzer

  • Following this years records getting broken at the TD the Colorado Trail Race has had the same treatment with a new record of 3d 20h for the just over 500 mile route with 21000m of elevation gain.
Along with Skinnys amazing current performance testing the limits of sleep deprivation

  • Yeah, brutal, 1 hrs sleep per night!

  • Fantastic work gabes, wonderful achievement.

The Alessi brothers just finished this week. Think they probably got a little more than 1hr sleep a night. Don't know if you met them (before the start most likely), but I think Giorgio holds the record for the lowest ever Arch 2 Arc and they both have the record for the slowest ever continuous double deca ironman - all things that only 20-30 people have done. I love those guys - they get shit done.

  • They were on my flight into calgary I think, didn't get to talk with them though. They just finished? really? I finished a month ago!

  • This I can get behind.

Live slow, die old. Preferably drunk.

  • FB shows their finishing champagne and cake on 25 July. None of their photos give the impression that they were 'racing' in any real sense. I think one had entered and the others were along for the long summer adventure. There are competers and there are completers.

  • it looks like they had an AMAZING time.. wow!

  • Lael Wilcox, who broke the womens record this year is back out there again, from her partners blog.....
"Lael decided that with a few months of summer remaining and a prospective fall start date in Austin, she would ride to Texas from Alaska. The gears started spinning, and she soon realized that if she could recover in time, she could include a fast ride down the Divide on her way to Texas."

  • Yep, she's mental. By the time she's done divide and got to austin she must be at nearly 20000 miles this year!

  • She's flying along. Currently on about a 15 day pace.

I reckon she can break the overall record, not just womens. Beast.

  • The Team Rice Burner phone in's were always great on MTB cast, you would get a lot of blokes saying how they were suffering or their bike had broken then the Lina (The 16 year old daughter) like an over excited puppy saying what a great day they had had and how much fun it was.

On another note Lael Wilcox finished her second TD of the season yesterday with another record!!

  • Favorite divide meal.

Oh that’s hard we had a lot of good food, I guess the pasta salad in Pie Town it was pretty great I had 2 orders of it haha.

    Fucking Pie Town!

    Although her dad:

I had 10 slices and 20 scoops of ice cream.

    Finally.

  • That solo bike is awesome. Love it.
