01FIX1 - Wednesday Night Rides.

I know @judenonesuch , this is a pretty messed up state of affairs. I'm attempting a last minute rally on Facebook, but don't get your hopes up. I think that we should start the recruitment process the week before each ride. I wanted to do that for this week's ride, but failed.

Was time trialling again in Cheshire (on a fixed track bike, of course).
My Wednesday (and Monday) evenings are probably going to be spent in car parks and lay-bys with men/women in lycra, because I really want to improve on my early season PB before the end of summer.

Fair enough. I ended up going out for a quick spin last night, so all is well. I would be up for riding on a different day next week if that would help? Thursday night recovery ride?

I'm basically too poor to replace this tyre and don't fancy doing loads of miles on it.

Haha! Is that a hardshell? Both my front and rear are showing a bit of canvas at the moment. I think that I might splash out on some decent tyres and start using my front brake (blasphemy, I know).

At the moment I'm stocking up on patches and inner tubes, which strikes me as pretty stupid. At least it's cheaper than buying those tyres though.

I wouldn't mind a regular 'TNRR', but not tonight as I'm going on a ride with m'lady.
And not next week because of riding a hill climb.
Maybe the week after.
But not the week after that because I'm riding another hillclimb :-)

When you say hill climb: do you walk up them so that you can do this on the way back down?

I have a solution but you won't like it.

Never really got involved in these rides in the past due to work commitments, but I'm my own boss now and would be up for some weds night rides on my fixed.

Might look similarly comical twiddling down to the nearest village hall for tea and cakes, with everyone else freewheeling.

That is encouraged, but bring spare tubs, glue, etc.!

Will this week be the week we ride? Wednesday and Thursday are looking decent, so let me know your thoughts.
