• Selling my friends Reynolds 531SL road bike for him.

Frame is in great conditions and chrome drop outs and fork ends corrosion free. Minor wear and tear to paint but no chips or rust etc.

The frame has Stronglight Headset, Shimano 600 arabesque brakes, Shimano 600 tri front and rear mech, Shimano RX 100 chainset 52/42, Shimano RX 100 7 speed shifters with a triple for the front derailleur, Cinelli 130mm stem with the wedge still there, a set of Cinelli bars and fairly standard wheels, mavic 192ne rims on nothing special hubs (I can check if needed on brand), Ritchey seatpost, random pair of flat pedals and worn gusset saddle

It's a bit of a mismatch of components but it was my friends first bike and he didn't get on with DT shifters so we got the RX100 shifters just to get him up and running. They run fine but you need to shift the front front triple shifter twice up or down as it's running on a double chain set.

Overall it's a really nice bike and runs fine even with mismatched parts. I'm based down near Brighton and I come through Victoria pretty regularly so can bring to either of them but the frame's too big for me to ride so pretty limited on getting it across London.

Looking for £160 ono. Any questions or if you think the price is over or under let me know as my friend is desperate for money for travelling.

  • dibs pending questions - pm'd

  • Thats very nice

£160 seems like a great price, good luck with the sale

  • Damn! I hoped this would go unnoticed for one more day as I think it's stunning and would like great with a modern gruppo and wheels and wanted to make it mine.

  • Undibs, could be yours @Stupree - in a rush for some steel and this seller hasn't replied to pm - and something better has come up

  • Cheers @conquistador, I also messaged to find out how the sale was going but no response. I don't suppose it's easy selling on behalf of someone else. Let's see what happens

  • Hi, sorry for the slow replies as I've been out of town. I've messaged people in order of the PM's received so everyone should know what's happening. I'll keep you all posted on when people fall through etc.

  • That's a lot of bike for not a lot of money.
The frame will look great with a modern groupo, deep carbon etc. Then it can go in HHSRB for sure.

  • That's exactly what I was thinking. May just go slightly more affordable with a Campagnolo Centaur gruppo.

  • That's exactly what I'd do. Have you bought it @Stupree ?

  • In the event that all the PMs fall through, I know someone who would probably snap it up.

  • No.2 in line I think but I'm not desperate. If someone is bikeless I'd give way to them.

  • Hectic week but sold I'm afraid. Thanks for all the interest.

  • Guessing this bike sold long long ago? Would be interested in finding it. - Alan Dent’s son.

  • HillyBen was the original buyer if this helps! Goodluck!

  • I have this Alan Dent Bike for sale, open to offers based in Newcastle and the Lake District
